
UT Turns in Third Place Finish at Webber
LAKE WALES, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team was among the top teams with a third-place showing at the 10th Annual Start 2 Finish Invitational, which was hosted by Webber International University at Lake Wales Country Club.
Head coach Rick Christie's squad fired a three-round score of 924 (+60), with rounds of 308, 306 and 310. Warner University won with a score of 887 as it edged host Webber International, who carded an 899. Warner's Daniel Bova won the individual title with a 221 (+5).
Tampa was led by Chris Clarke and Myles Wharram, who each tallied a 229 (+13) for an 11th-place showing. Jason Steele (230) and Jonathan Singleton (231) also finished in the top-20 at 15th and 17th respectively.
Also golfing for the Spartans were Will Monnery (237), Patrick Fereday (238) and Evan Lerner (243). Wharram began play with a first-round score of 71, marking the low round for Tampa.
The Spartans will not return to competition until the Florida Tech Invitational, which is slated for March 16-17. The event will be played at The Majors Golf Course in Palm Bay.
