Buccaneer Invitational Complete as UT Eyes League Tournament
NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team finished 14th at the Buccaneer Invitational, which was a three-round event hosted by Barry University at Normandy Shores Country Club.
Tampa fired respective rounds of 311, 301 and 305 to come in at 917. Host Barry won the team title with an 831, finishing 22 strokes ahead of second-place Johnson & Wales.
Chris Clarke led all Spartans with a 225, as he finished 52nd overall. Jason Steele had a 228, and also turned in the top round for UT with a second-round 73. Also competing for the Spartans were Zach Schuster (230), Will Monnery (237), Myles Wharram, Evan Lerner (236) and Jonathan Singleton (237).
Tampa will return to the links on April 13-15 at the 2014 Sunshine State Conference Championships, which will take place at Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
