
UT Opens Spring Slate at Titan Invite
Gray Barnes led the way for Tampa.
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's golf team opened its spring season at the three-round Titan Winter Invitational, finishing 11th in the event hosted by Eastern Florida State College.

• Eddie Doyle | 45th overall, 234

OTHER NOTABLES:
• Tampa did not register any individuals as the five-man lineup were the lone UT competitors.
• Doyle fired a 71 in the third-round to record the top overall round for the Spartans.
• For the first time of the 2016-17 season, Barnes and Doyle were the top finishers for the Spartans.
• The medalist was Eastern Florida State's Mathieu Echlard. He finished at 212 (-4).
• A total of 15 teams competed as 14 counted in the standings. SSC opponent Barry entered as an exhibition contest.
• In addition to UT and Barry, fellow SSC opponent Florida Tech (3) also competed.

The Spartans return to the links on March 3-5 at the Webber Invitational. The tournament will be played at Greenleaf Golf Course in Haines City, Fla.
