
McDonough Cup Concludes Fall Season for Men's Golf
Tampa will now turn its focus on spring season.
ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's golf team completed its final competition at the McDonough Cup.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
UT Finish: 17th, 950 strokes, +86 (316-316-317)
Team Champion: Newberry, 880 strokes

- Jacques Celestino | 50th overall, 231
- Robert Montagnino | 59th overall, 233
- Spencer Olson | 66th overall, 235
- Nate Kosarich | 83rd overall, 242
- Alex Hellewell | 90th, 245
OTHER NOTABLES:
- Celestino and led all Spartans for the third time this season.
- An opening round 76 by Celestino was the top for the Spartans.
- Celestino and Montagnino were the lone Spartans with three sub-80 rounds.
- In addition to Olson Nick DiMarco and Patrick Montagnino were entered as individuals.
- Jonathan Buller was part of UT's lineup, but withdrew in the second round.
- Carson-Newman's Jake Headrick was the individual champion after finishing with a 211 (-5).
- A total of 18 teams competed.
- Joining UT and host Rollins (2nd) from the Sunshine State Conference were Palm Beach Atlantic (12th), Embry-Riddle (13th) and Eckerd (18th).
UP NEXT:
The Spartans will open spring competition on February 5-6 at the Brevard Invitational. The tournament will be played at Sun Tree Country Club in Melbourne.
