
SSC Honors Aadam Syed With All-League Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Ten student-athletes have been named to the 2021 All-Sunshine State Conference men's golf teams. University of Tampa standout Aadam Syed was recognized as a second-team performer.
Agustin Errazuriz of Lynn University is awarded Golfer of the Year, Nova Southeastern University's Javier Calles is named Freshman of the Year, and Andy Walker of Lynn is honored as Coach of the Year. Voting for the All-SSC men's golf awards was conducted among the league's men's golf coaches.
Syed, a sophomore from London, England, has played 18 rounds with the Spartans this season. His 73.72 average leads all Spartans, as he notched a team-best low-round of 68. He has two top-five finishes and three-top-10.
He is coming off a second-place finish at the 2021 Sunshine State Conference Championships, where he fired rounds of 72, 68 and 74 to finish -2. He also placed third at the Space Coast Collegiate Championships with a -4, marking his best finish +/- par.

Errazuriz, a junior from Santiago, Chile, takes conference Golfer of the Year honors following two tournament victories and four Top-6 finishes this spring. Errazuriz began the season by besting the field at the Saint Leo Invitational and finished with the SSC Championship title. His scoring average of 70.67 across 15 rounds stands as the league's best. Errazuriz is the third Lynn athlete to win SSC Men's Golfer of the Year, first since 20061.
League coaches select Calles as Freshman of the Year following a strong season for Nova Southeastern. The Madrid, Spain native logged a 72.44 scoring average across 18 rounds, which is the sixth-best in the league. Calles appeared in six events for the Sharks in 2021, finishing Top-10 three times and Top-5 twice. He is the fifth NSU athlete to win Freshman of the Year, first since 20122.
Walker is named SSC Coach of the Year by his peers for the first time in his career. With only five tournaments played in 2021, Walker piloted the Fighting Knights to three wins and two second-place finishes. Lynn's third win of the season secured the program's first SSC title since 2016, fifth overall. Walker is the fourth Lynn skipper to be named Coach of the Year3, first since 2017.
Lynn's Toto Gana highlights the repeat All-SSC honorees in 2021. The senior earns his third straight All-SSC honor and second consecutive First Team laurel. His teammate, Jorge Villar, moves up to the First Team after Second Team honors in 2019. Daniel Faccini of Barry University makes the jump to the First Team following Honorable Mention accolades in 2019.
