
George Eubank, Alex Mercier Lead Way for Spartans in Season Opener
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's golf team opened its 2021-222 season at the annual Jay Jenison Cup, notching a 10th-place finish.

OTHER NOTABLES:
- Mercier and South Carolina-Aiken transfer Eubank led the Spartans in the opening contest of 2021-22.
- Both Mercier and Eubank finished the tournament with a team-best 68 in round three. Syed carded a 68 in round two.
- Nathan Piatt was registered as an individual, shooting a 220 (+4) to finish 42nd overall.
- A total of 15 teams competed.
- Barton's Bryson Boyette was the medalist with a 201 (-15).
- Joining the Spartans and team-champion Barry from the Sunshine State Conference were Lynn (6), Rollins (7), Florida Tech (11), Embry-Riddle (12) and Eckerd (13).
UP NEXT:
The Spartans will play at the Shark Invitational on October 4-5. Nova Southeastern University will host the tournament at Grande Oaks Golf Club in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
