
Alex Mercier Paces Spartans in Final Fall Tournament
CHAMPIONS GATE, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team participated in the Citrus Intercollegiate at ChampionsGate Golf Club, finishing in 5th place as the Spartans remained in contention throughout the tournament.
With a total score of 864, UT concluded the tournament at even par. While they didn't clinch the top spot, the top five teams were separated by just seven strokes.
Top Tampa Golfers

Alex Mercier from the Tampa team showcased his skill and consistency, finishing tied for 7th place with a total score of 213. He recorded scores of 70, 69, and 74, finishing at 3 under par, contributing significantly to the team's performance.

Leonardo Bono was another notable Tampa golfer, who secured the 9th position with a total score of 214. His rounds of 71, 70, and 73 placed him 2 under par, highlighting his steady play.

Freshman Jonathan Garbely also put up a commendable performance, finishing tied for 16th place with a score of 218. He recorded scores of 74, 70, and 74, concluding the tournament at 2 over par.
- Jonty Marshall was tied for 29th overall. HE carded rounds of 69, 74 and 77 for a +4 score of 220.

Competing as an individual, Rocco Lopez secured the 59th position with a score of 231, shooting rounds of 76, 78, and 77, finishing at 15 over par.

Alejandro Quintero rounded out the Tampa golfers with a total score of 233, finishing 17 over par.
