Mohit Balaji Leads Tampa in Season Opener
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team opened its 2024-25 season at the Griffin Invitational, held at Mission Inn Resort and hosted by fellow Sunshine State Conference opponent Saint Leo University.
Facing tough competition, Tampa finished ninth in the team standings with a total score of 891 (+39). Palm Beach Atlantic secured the team title with a score of 865 (+13).
Top Tampa Golfers
- In his Spartan debut, Mohit Balaji the Tampa after shooting rounds of 72, 76, and 73 to finish tied for 23rd at 221 (+8).'
- Freshman Cooper Nelson followed closely, tying for 26th with a total of 222 (+9) after rounds of 76, 72, and 74.
- Jonathan Garbely also had a solid showing, tying for 29th with a score of 223 (+10).
- Louis Galvin tied for 37th as he competed as an individual.
- Linus Landahl finished tied for 40th while Cian Hughes came in 55th
