
Late Rally Moves Spartans Up in Standings at Southeastern Collegiate
VALDOSTA, Ga. - The University of Tampa men's golf team finished 15th at the 2025 Southeastern Collegiate, held at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga. Competing against a strong 16-team field, Tampa posted rounds of 303, 298, and 286 for a total score of 887 (+23).
After a difficult opening round that placed them near the bottom of the standings, Tampa rebounded with a stronger second round and finished with their best round on day two, a 286. This final-round effort showcased the team's ability to compete with some of the best programs in the region.
Top Tampa Performers
- Jonathan Garbely (T-39, 75-73-71—219, +3) - Garbely was Tampa's top performer, finishing tied for 39th. After a solid 75 in the opening round, he improved with a 73 in round two and closed with a strong 71.
- Linus Landahl (T-39, 72-79-68—219, +3) - Landahl had the standout round for Tampa, shooting a stellar 68 on the final day.
- Kyle Honer (T-68, 78-71-76—225, +9) - Honer's second round was his best, with a 71 that helped Tampa gain momentum.
- Mohit Balaji (T-76, 79-77-72—228, +12) - Balaji showed improvement throughout the event, finishing with his best round (72) on the final day.
- Cian Hughes (T-81, 78-77-75—230, +14) - He improved slightly each round, finishing with a 75 in the third round to close on a positive note.
