Fiorucci Wins Second Deep South Conference Defensive Player of the Week

Wingate, N.C. - University of Tampa junior goalie Joseph Fiorucci (Shirley, N.Y.) has been named Deep South Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Saint Leo sophomore attack Matt Obermeyer (Winter Springs, Fla.) has been named Offensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday, while Florida Southern's Dane Sorenson (Victoria, British Columbia) is the Freshman of the Week.

Fiorucci piled up 25 saves in Tampa's two games last week, which included 18 saves in the win over ninth-ranked Mars Hill. He started his week with seven saves against Colorado Mesa, while allowing seven goals. Fiorucci held Mars Hill to a season-low six goals in Tampa's 7-6 victory, compiling a save percentage of .750 while also collecting five ground balls against the Lions.
