
#5 Spartans Run Away With The Blowout Win Against Young Harris
TAMPA, Fla. – The fifth-ranked University of Tampa Spartans faced off against the Young Harris College Mountain Lions in a Saturday matchup at Naimoli Field.

How It Happened:
First Quarter|| The Mountain Lions were first on the board as Cody Bielec netted one just over a minute into the game. Tampa would respond scoring the next three goals to overtake the lead over Young Harris, as Bryan Wright, Owen Miller, and Stephano Mastro scored. The Spartan offense continued to be dominant as they would score 10 goals in the opening quarter. || 10-3 Tampa
Second Quarter || The second quarter was close as UT outscored YHC 3-2. Miller scored two goals and Wright scored one goal the third in the quarter. One of Young Harris' goals was with a man up. || 13-5 Tampa
Third Quarter || The Spartans would add another five goals in the third quarter to take a commanding lead over the Mountain Lions. Jack Wood, Colin White, and Wright would combine for the five goals in the quarter. || 18-6 Tampa
Fourth Quarter || Tampa finsihed the game strong as they scored six goals in the final frame. Jake Mosher McGraw, Wyatt Fruland, Neil Calkin, and Colin White would combine for the six goals in the quarter. || 24-7 Tampa
Inside the Stats:
- Bryan Wright would lead the Tampa offense again as he would score a career-high five goals.
- Jake Mosher McGraw, Owen Miller, and Colin White each scored four goals in the victory.
- The four goals were a career-high for Miller.
- Harry Kilkowski would serve as the main facilitators for the Spartans as he dished out a career-best four assists.
- Matthew Beddow, Sam Collingwood, and Luke McAnaney each caused two turnovers in the win.
- Ross Dickerson would scoop up a game-high eight groundballs.
- Devon Hess and Wright would each add seven groundballs.
- Tampa outshot Young Harris 72-23.
- UT was dominant in the face-off circle as they won 31 of 35 attempts.
- Alexander Starr moves to 2-0 for the season between the pipes.
Beyond the Box:
- Tampa has now won four straight games at Naimoli Field.
- The 10 goals scored in the first quarter were the most the Spartans have scored in a single quarter in program history.
- Nine different UT players scored goals in the win.
Up Next: The Spartans will be back in action next Saturday, February 22 as they travel to Lakeland to take on the Florida Southern Moccasins. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
