Mocs Cannot Handle Spartan Offense, Resulting in Victory for Tampa
LAKELAND, Fla. – The fifth-ranked University of Tampa Spartans had their first road game of the season, as they traveled to Lakeland to take on the 19th ranked Florida Southern College Moccasins. The Spartans used a balanced offensive attack as eight different players scored in the victory.

How It Happened:
First Quarter|| The Spartans jumped out to an early 4-0 lead over the Mocs as Jack Wood scored twice, with Harry Kilkowski and Cole Witman each adding goals. Sean Nolan would put FSC on the board, as he scored with nine seconds left in the quarter. || 4-1 Tampa
Second Quarter || The second quarter was again dominated by UT as they outscored FSC 6-1. Christian Borodiak and Owen Miller would score the first two goals of the quarter before Southern answered with a goal of their own. After the Southern goal, Tampa scored the next four goals as Owen Matukas, Harry Kilkowski, Luke McAnaney, and Bryan Wright helped extend the lead to 10-2 heading into half time. || 10-2 Tampa
Third Quarter || The third quarter was a lower scoring quarter with only three combined goals in the frame. Wood scored both of the Spartans goals in the quarter and Tampa's defense would only allow one goal in the quarter to Sean Nolan. || 12-3 Tampa
Fourth Quarter || The final frame of the game was much like the third, as there were only three goals combined in the final 15 minutes of play. Sean Nolan and Thomas Frank scored for the Mocs, and Owen Miller would score the final goal of the game. || 13-5
Inside the Stats:
· Jack Wood led the way for Tampa, as the freshman scored four goals in the win. He would also add an assist in the win.
· Owen Miller and Harry Kilkowski would each add a pair of goals, as Kilkowski finished with a game-high two assists.
· As a team, the Spartans caused 12 turnovers with Matthew Beddow, Owen Matukas, and Sam Collingwood causing two apiece.
· In the face-off circle, Ross Dickerson won 15 of 22 attempts as he would collect nine groundballs.
· In goal, Alexander Starr earned the victory as he recorded 11 saves on 16 shots faced.
· As a team, UT picked up 42 groundballs, while only allowing 24 to FSC.
Beyond the Box:
· The victory is the 12th straight against Florida Southern.
· The Spartans remain undefeated on the road against the Mocs.
Up Next: Tampa will be back in action on Friday, February 28th as they return home to square off against North Greenville. The game is set to begin at 8:00 p.m.
