
Strong Second Half Propels Spartans Victory Over the Trojans
TAMPA, Fla. – The third-ranked University of Tampa Spartans played a Wednesday night game under the lights of Pepin Stadium as they faced off against the 17th ranked University of Mount Olive Trojans.

How It Happened:
First Quarter
Tampa would start off hot in the opening 15 minutes as Harry Kilkowski and Bryan Wright would combine for the three Tampa goals. The defense was also tough in the frame as they would not allow any goals.| UT 3-0
Second Quarter:
Tampa would score the first goal of the quarter as Owen Miller would score a man up goal coming off an assists by Luke McAnaney. The Trojans were able to get on the board for the first time with 10:52 remaining in the half as Brody Sullivan would score. In the final minute of the half there were two goals scored as Miller would score his second goal of the game and Connor Watson would score with one second remaining in the half. || UT 5-2
Third Quarter:
UT would again be the first team to score in the quarter as Wright would score a man up goal with 9:14 left. Following the UT goal, UMO was able to find their footing offensively as they would net the next three goals to pull within one goal at 6-5 with 3:00 left in the quarter. Ross Dickerson would end the Trojan run as he would score an unassisted goal. The Spartans would score the final two goals of the quarter to take a four goal lead heading into the final 15 minutes. || UT 9-5
Fourth Quarter
For the fourth consecutive quarter in the game, Tampa would be the first on the board as Jake Mosher McGraw would score an unassisted goal. Over the next three minutes, Wright would score two goals assisted by Kilkowski to push the Spartans to their largest lead of the game so far at 12-5. Mount Olive would add one goal before the Spartans closed the game out with a 3-0 run to run away with the victory. || UT 15-6
Inside the Stats
- Bryan Wright led the offense in goals as would score five goals while adding one assist.
- Harry Kilkowski would also add six points in the game as he had four assists and two goals.
- Owen Miller finished the game with three goals.
- Luke Curran would score his first goal of the season.
- Ross Dickerson finished the game 14-19 in faceoffs and gathered 11 groundballs.
- Reigning SSC Player of the Week Alexander Starr finished the game with nine saves to earn his seventh win of the season.
