Three Spartans Earn Maverik Men's DII Media All-American Honors
TAMPA, Fla. – Three University of Tampa men's lacrosse players have been named Maverik Men's DII Media All-Americans. Ross Dickerson earned First Team honors, Jake Mosher McGraw earned Second Team honors and Scott Phillips earned Third Team honors.
Dickerson led the way for Tampa in the faceoff circle as he won 81.3 % (118-145) of faceoffs taken, which ranked him third in the NCAA. He also would collect over 10 groundballs per game which ranked fifth in the nation. Along with those stats, he would also score one goal, dish out two assists and had a shot on goal percentage of 83.3.
Mosher McGraw earned a spot on the second team as he finished the season with 15 goals and would add three assists, giving him 18 points on the season. During the season he would score four-man up goals, scooped up six groundballs, and had a shot on goal percentage of 71.4.
Phillips led the defense for the Spartans as he earned a spot as a Third Team All-American. During the season he would cause seven turnovers and picked up 24 groundballs in six games played. Phillips would help the Spartan defense to be one of the toughest in the nation as they ranked third with 6.14 goals allowed per game.
The trio led UT to an 8-0 record before the season ended and had four wins over ranked teams. They would also lead the Spartans to a top-three ranking during the 2020 season.
