TAMPA, FL. – The No. 1 ranked University of Tampa Spartans men's lacrosse team runs all over the No. 11 ranked Florida Southern Mocs at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST QUARTER
The Spartans would waste no time putting the ball in the back of the net, as Harry Kilkowski put Tampa on the scoresheet two minutes into the game. Both teams played well on the defensive side of the ball, proving this to be a great matchup. With just over six minutes left the Spartans cut the Mocs' lead to one goal, pressuring their defense. Daniel Fitzpatrick's second goal of the contest tied the game at three, with three minutes left in the quarter. With a late goal scored by Owen Matukas, the Spartans ended the quarter with the narrow lead.

SECOND QUARTER
Both teams continued their great defensive play to open the second quarter. The Mocs would open the scoring in the quarter, tying the game at four goals. With just over 12 minutes left, the Mocs called a timeout to try and decipher the Spartans' game plan. Owen Miller scored with just over 11 minutes left before the half, causing the Mocs to call another timeout. Fitzpatrick completed his hat trick five minutes before the half, building the Spartan leads to two goals. The Spartans continued to find the back of the net and took a commanding five goal lead headed into the half.

The Spartans would come out to start the second half blazing on defense. The Mocs scored an early goal to cut the Spartans' lead into four goals. Kilkowski connected with Luke McAnaney to pull the Spartans back into a five goal lead. Jackson Day scored his third goal of the season, putting the Spartans up by six.
With McAnaney finishing his hat trick, the Spartans offense would dominate the Mocs in this quarter. Tampa would go into the final 15 minutes with a decisive eight goal lead.
