
Top Ranked Spartans Dominate the Saints at Home
TAMPA, Fla. – The No.1 ranked University of Tampa Spartans men's lacrosse team remains undefeated as they defeat Flagler at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST QUARTER
The first quarter would open with Daniel Fitzpatrick charging the net and finding the back of it to put the Spartans in the lead early. He would find the back of the net once again less than 40 seconds later to build the lead to two goals. The Saints answered to one minute later to cut the Tampa lead to one. Senior Owen Miller scored his first of the matchup off a pass from Nick Papa to gain a two goal lead once again. With five minutes left in the quarter, Tampa had a five goal lead over Flagler. Fitzpatrick finished off his hat-trick with just over two minutes left in the quarter. Tampa would go into the second with a seven goal lead over the Saints.

SECOND QUARTER
The second quarter would begin slower than the first with both teams playing well defensively. The opening goal came four minutes into the quarter, when Max Manniello found the back of the net. The Saints would go on to score back to back goals one minute later to cut the Spartan lead to six goals. With just over six and a half minutes to play, the Spartans had an 11-3 lead. Freshman Jackson Bashaw would net his fourth of the season, launching the Spartans into halftime with the lead.

The second half would begin with Alex Poma controlling the face-off, setting up Luke McAnaney's second goal of the matchup. McAnaney would then find freshman Gavin Bomstad in front of the net to score his first of two consecutive goals. Fitzpatrick would continue his stellar performance behind his assist on Miller's second goal of the match. The Spartans would continue to dominate on offense, and go into the final 15 minutes with a 12 goal lead.
