Top 10 Spartans Sail Past Palm Beach Atlantic
TAMPA, Fla. – The No.6 ranked University of Tampa Spartans men's lacrosse team sails by Palm Beach Atlantic at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST QUARTER
The first quarter would open with a battle between the conference foes. The Sailfish called an early timeout to try and get on the board first. Freshman Gavin Bomstad found teammate Kellen Hoke open behind traffic to open the scoring. The Sailfish responded less than one minute later to tie the game at one a piece. Trejan Cannon ran a groundball all the way down field to set up Canyon Birch's goal to put the Spartans in the lead once again. A late Luke McAnaney goal put Tampa in a three goal lead headed into the second quarter.

SECOND QUARTER
The second quarter would begin with Bomstad continuing to build his resume as a Spartan, as he found the back to the net. Owen Miller netted his first of the matchup, building the Tampa lead to five goals. Off a face-off win, Alex Poma scored a goal of his own, stunning the Sailfish defense. McAnaney finished off his hattrick with just under nine minutes before the half, extending the Spartan lead to seven. The Sailfish got one back with just over six minutes left, gaining back some confidence. The Spartan offense kept rolling, with Miller finishing off his hattrick in the quarter as well. Tampa would go into the half with a comfortable lead.

The second half would open with Charlie Bolesh introducing himself to the Palm Beach Atlantic goaltender. Miller continued his outstanding play, netting his fourth goal off a pass from Daniel Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick followed up with a goal of his own to build the Spartan lead to 14. The Sailfish got one back, cutting into the Tampa lead. The Spartans kept on sailing, and headed into the final 15 minutes with a dominate lead.
