
Luke McAnaney Named SSC Offensive Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa men's lacrosse player, Luke McAnaney has been named Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season.
McAnaney earns Offensive Player of the Week laurels with his play in Tampa's wins over No. 13 Colorado Mesa (19-11) and Westminster (11-10). The Syracuse, New York native had four goals, including the game-winner, against Colorado Mesa. Against Westminster, McAnaney scored a game-high five goals and, with his two assists, registered a game-high seven points. McAnaney scored his nine goals off 15 shots and 11 shots on goal. The grad student also gave the Spartans five groundballs across the two wins. The weekly award is the second of his career.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 20 - 26, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
