9th Ranked Spartans Ready to Host Conference Showdown

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's lacrosse team continues conference play as they welcome the Lions.

The Matchup: No. 9 University of Tampa (10-2, 4-1 SSC) vs. Saint Leo (8-4, 3-1 SSC)

Date/Time: Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 8:00 p.m.

Series History: This Spartans hold a sizeable 12-3 lead over the Lions in the overall series. 

About the Spartans: Tampa comes into the game following a dominate 17-8 win on the road against No.16 Florida Southern. The Spartans have an impressive 7-0 record at home, with a 4-1 record in conference play. Tampa averages 47 shots per game with 15.92 goals per game. The Spartans are looking to keep up their great play in the conference on Wednesday.  

About the Lions: The Lions are looking to come to Tampa and stay in the win column. Saint Leo defeated Embry-Riddle at home 17-10 on Saturday. The Lions are 3-1 in conference play so far this season, and have a 3-3 road record. Saint Leo averages 45.5 shots per game, and they are looking to continue their conference success on Wednesday.
