SAVANNAH, Ga. - Tampa falls to top-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne on the road.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tampa jumped out to an early lead after Owen Miller scored an unassisted goal under a minute into the contest. The Spartans would continue to pour on the goals in the first and at one point would lead the Bears by a score of 4-0. However, the Bears would fight back, scoring five unanswered goals to end the first quarter with a 5-4 lead.
Lenoir-Rhyne would continue their run, scoring the first two goals of the second quarter. However, back-to-back goals from Ryan Kemp and Miller would cut the Bears lead to one. The Bears would end the second quarter with a 9-6 lead heading into the third.
The Bears came out strong to start the third scoring the first two goals of the quarter. The Spartans would try to rally and cut the deficit to three at one point but in the end would not be enough to overcome.
Stat of the Game - Alex Poma tallied one goal, and one assist, and went 18-24 on faceoffs.
