No. 2 Tampa Aims For Valentines Victory Over Rockhurst

TAMPA, Fla. - The 3-0 Tampa men's lacrosse team welcomes the Rockhurst Hawks from the Show-Me State, with hopes of staying unbeaten.

The Matchup: No. 2 University of Tampa (3-0, 0-0 SSC) vs. No. 18 Rockhurst (1-1, 0-0 GLVC)

Series History: Tampa dominated Rockhurst in their first-ever meeting during the 2024 season, securing a commanding 23-7 victory.

About the Spartans: The University of Tampa men's lacrosse team continues their 2025 win streak after a 12-7 victory over rival Florida Southern. Tampa currently leads in the Sunshine State Conference with 43 total goals. Ryan Kemp secured his third straight hat trick, tallying his 11th goal of the season for an SSC-best 3.67 goals per game. Davis Lindsey recorded a goal and an assist and leads the conference with 4 assists. Kemp and Lindsey are the only SSC players averaging over 4 points per game.

About the Hawks: After being ranked 19th in the USILA Preseason Division II poll, the Rockhurst men's lacrosse team has opened the 2025 season with a win at Quincy University and a hard-fought overtime loss to No. 12 Maryville. Jonah McConnell, the 2024 GLVC Co-Freshman of the Year, leads the conference with 4.50 goals per game, fueled by strong team play, including a conference-best .632 faceoff win percentage.
