Michael Flores Garners National Recognition After Performance Versus Flagler

TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's lacrosse face-off specialist Michael Flores was named the USA Lacrosse Magazine Divison II Player of the Week and named to the USILA Team of the Week.

An Apopka, Florida native and transfer from Saint Leo Univeristy, Flores has made an immediate impact in his first games as a Spartan. On Saturday night, the No. 2 ranked Tampa Spartans hosted the Flagler College Saints for a showdown under the lights. In the face-off circle, Flores went 15-18, setting the tone from winning the opening faceoff. His excellent play continued throughout the night, as he recorded a game-leading 10 groundballs while also recording an assist.

Tampa is set to host Rockhurst for a Valentine's Day matchup at 7:30 p.m.
