TAMPA, Fla. – No. 2 Tampa Spartans down the Concordia Golden Eagles in a midday matchup.
How It Happened
- In a pretty steady half of offense, Tampa had six different goal scorers in the first half of play.
- The two teams combined for 33 shots in the first half as Tampa took a 7-3 lead into the break.
- Grant Green and Davis Lindsey would break open the scoring for the Spartans in the third quarter as they each tallied a goal int the first four minutes of the frame.
- The Golden Eagles would net an impressive solo-goal at the end of the shot clock to cut the Tampa lead to 9-4.
- Possession would go back and forth between the two squads as scoring drew to a standstill for the remainder of the quarter.
- Connor Theriault recorded a few saves in the third to preserve the Spartans' lead heading into the fourth.
- Senior, Wyatt Antkiewicz notched his first goal of the season on a Rex Kesselring assist.
- Despite having Concordia defenders draped all over him, Kesselring would net an impressive goal to solidify the 11-5 Tampa lead in the final frame – Tampa would go onto win 12-5.

- Flores went 12-for-17 on faceoffs today, helping aid the Tampa offense, while also adding six groundballs.
- Sam Gotham recorded his second goal of the season.
- Patrick Selhorn recorded his first goal of the season.
- Connor Theriault has recorded double-figure saves in five of the first six games this season as he had 10 saves today.
