TAMPA, Fla. – A balanced attack led the No. 1 ranked University of Tampa men's lacrosse team past No. 13 Saint Leo on Military Appreciation Day.
How It Happened
- The Spartans jumped out to a 3-0 lead fueled by the efforts of Rafe Bradshaw, Aaron Cho, and Grant Green.
- Ryan Kemp and Davis Lindsey would round out the first quarter of scoring for Tampa as they took a 5-2 lead into the second frame.
- Scoring was slower for both sides in the second frame of play as both teams would only tally a pair of goals. Green and Lindsey would both find the back of the net for the second time, pushing the Tampa lead to 7-4 entering the half.
- The third quarter was a bit of back-and-forth play for the two sides as the programs seemingly traded goals.
- Michael Flores would command the faceoff battle, going 13-for-21 while also adding six groundballs.
- Senior Dom Rottura also came up big for Tampa, contributing four groundballs and causing a turnover.
- With their eighth consecutive win, Tampa now leads the all-time series 15-3.
