Tampa Men’s Soccer to Host Golf Classic
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's soccer program will be hosting the Spartan Golf Classic at the Eagles Golf Course on Saturday, August 18 at 8 a.m. This golf tournament is the soccer program's largest fundraiser and is looked upon to raise scholarship money for the team.
Last April, the program hosted men's soccer's first ever golf tournament to help raise money for the Tom Fitzgerald Scholarship fund. That event raised over $7,000 for the scholarship fund in hopes to one day have a scholarship in Fitzgerald's name. These fundraisers are so critical to the success of UT athletics and provide opportunities for student athletes who need to have scholarship aid to earn a degree.
We hope to double that amount at next month's golf tournament and assist us to get the program back to national prominence. Please return your registration forms and we look forward to a great event and day surrounded by UT men's soccer alumni weekend!
The golf event will surround UT men's soccer alumni weekend that features a night filled with soccer action as the UT men and women teams will face the USF men and women teams at USF. The Mayor's Cup is back in Tampa Bay and no matter where you may have attended college - this is a fantastic event for the Tampa Bay area and college soccer at its best.
