Spartans Clinch First Round Conference Bye with Shutout of Eckerd
TAMPA, Fla. - The
University of Tampa men's soccer team (10-5, 6-2 SSC) clinched a
first round bye in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament with a
1-0 shutout victory over the Eckerd College Tritons (11-7, 3-5 SSC)
on Friday night. The win marks the Spartans' second consecutive

into a tie for the team-lead in game-winning goals. Ryan Thompson
recorded his second win and first shutout of the season, making
five saves to improve his record to a perfect 2-0.
The Spartans return to the pitch in the second round of the SSC
Tournament next weekend after their first round bye. Game time and
