UT Men Set To Host Montevallo In Home Opener

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team will host the University of Montevallo Falcons on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. This match will be UT's home opener.

The Spartans are 4-1-2 all-time against the Falcons, last facing them in 2010, when they lost 2-1 in double overtime.

Seniors returning to the field are midfielders Brock Jennings, Dominic Goncalves, Dominic Cutrofello and defender Brian Fekete.

Cutrofello was the team's second leading scorer in 2011 adding five goals including a game winner against national finalist Lynn on October 1.

Junior goaltender David Niepel, who started 13 games posting a 1.84 goals against average, returns in net.

The Falcons have two preseason all-Peach Belt Conference team members in junior goaltender Brendan Ledgeway and senior forward Shane Howard.

Tickets will be available for both games at the gate for $5 (adults) and $3 (children and senior citizens). UT students will be admitted for free with a valid student ID.
