UT Makes Return to National Rankings
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team is now No. 22 in the NSCAA Division II national poll, announced Tuesday.
The Spartans are now 7-3-1 on the season and have won three consecutive contests, two versus nationally-ranked opponents.
Tampa is one of two Sunshine State Conference schools in the top-25, joined by Lynn (3). Wednesday's opponent, Rollins, is also listed as receiving votes.
This marks the fifth consecutive season that Tampa has been represented in the national rankings and the fourth week this season where UT has been in the top-25 after opening the season unranked. The Spartans top showing of 2012 was No. 7 in the third installment of the rankings.
In the NCAA Division II national rankings, UT ranks 49th in GAA (1.06) as leading scorer Tyler Blackwood is 39th in goals (7).
Tampa's lone match of the week will take place on Wednesday at Rollins.
