SSC Honors Tyler Blackwood Following Dominating Week
ORLANDO, Fla. - Fresh off his second hat trick of the 2012 campaign, University of Tampa men's soccer player Tyler Blackwood has been named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, presented by VALIC.
Blackwood, a sophomore forward from London, England, notched nine points in a pair of SSC victories last week. In a 2-1 victory over Nova Southeastern, he assisted on a goal in the 74th minute that tied the match. Blackwood then scored the game-winner himself in the 83rd minute. He then notched his second hat trick of the season in a 5-1 win at Florida Southern. Blackwood scored three straight goals in a span of less than 13 minutes to help the Spartans put the match out of reach.
