Lions Set to Visit Tampa on Wednesday Night
The Spartans will host Saint Leo in their second to last home game of the regular season
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Spartans will host the Saint Leo University Lions for a 7 p.m. match tomorrow night. The Spartans come into the match on a high note after a convincing 4-1 victory over then-No.8 Barry on Friday night and routing Auburn-Montgomery 6-1 on Saturday night
The Matchup: University of Tampa (8-2-2, 3-2-1 SSC) vs. Saint Leo University (3-6-0, 1-4-0 SSC)
• The Spartans and Lions enter the contest as the No. 2 and No. 7 offenses in the SSC as Tampa is averaging 3.16 goals per game as a team while Saint Leo comes into the match averaging 1.44 goals per game.
• UT has scored nearly triple the number of goals that Saint Leo has, with a 38-13 advantage. The two teams are averaging similar numbers in shots per game as UT has averaged 13.5 and the Lions have averaged 12.89.

Last Time Out: UT hosted Barry on Friday for the Homecoming game with the match ending in a convincing 4-1 victory for the Spartans. On Saturday, the team defeated Auburn-Montgomery 6-1 to wrap up their busy week. Fredinho Mompremier leads the way on offense scoring 11 goals this year while Sugden leads the way in assists with eight. In net, Jake Richards has been the starter for most of the season and has conceded 11 goals in 776 minutes of action and recorded 22 saves.
About the Spartans: Freshman Sugden is second in the SSC lead in assists per game with an average of .667, with eight in 12 games played. Mompremier is tied for second in the conference in goals scored with 11 so far this season, two behind the leader. Mompremier is also second in game-winning goals at five. Defensively, Richards is second in the conference in goals against with an average of .946.
About the Lions: Saint Leo is coming off a 2-0 victory at home against Embry-Riddle on Saturday night. Scoring for the Lions in the match were Teddy Auyoma and Michael Tinari. The offense is led by Marcelo Casas and Bafou Sanogo who have scored three goals apiece this season. Senior Conor McElhinney has played the most minutes in net and has allowed 12 goals while recording 25 saves.
Series History: Tampa leads the all-time series between the two schools with 30 victories to Saint Leo's 11. In the last meeting, UT fell to Saint Leo 4-1 in Saint Leo, Fla.
