Spartans Set for First Conference Matchup Against the Eagles

TAMPA, Fla. –  The Tampa Spartans welcome cross-coast visitors for the first conference matchup of the season.

The Matchup: University of Tampa Spartans vs. Embry-Riddle Eagles

Records: Tampa (2-2), Embry-Riddle (2-2-1)

About the Spartans: Coming off a weekend road trip to South Carolina, the Spartans are looking to carry the momentum of Saturday's matchup forward. Four different Spartans tallied a goal in the 4-2 win against Lander, with captain Juancho Fernandez notching a team leading five shots. Three Spartans recorded a goal and an assist against the Bearcats: Omar Thali, Ornaldo Zeqiri, and Fernandez. The Spartans are ready to take the field for their first conference matchup of the season.

About the Eagles: Headed into Wednesday matchup, the Eagles are coming off a 1-0 win against Florida Memorial. The lone goal of the game was scored by sophomore Sandro Henning. The Eagles are looking to win their first road game of the season, after dropping the previous two matchups to Florida Tech and Stetson.

Series History: The Spartans have a sizeable 8-2-2 overall series lead against the Eagles.
