HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: The game began with a battle between the two conference foes. Junior midfielder Sean Quinn opened the scoring for the Spartans in the 30th minute, after Nico Gamio found him in front of the net. This would prove to be the lone goal of the half, and Tampa would lead by one headed into the second forty-five. Score: 1-0 Tampa
SECOND HALF: The second half opened up with a sense of urgency from both teams. The Spartans were eager to score again to build their lead, while the Panthers were looking for the equalizer. The Panthers tied the game off a penalty kick in the 58th minute. The score would stay knotted at one goal a piece. Final: 1-1 Tie
