Spartans Swimming Concludes Day One of Two Day Top-10 Clash With NSU

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -  The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams competed in the first of two sessions against the Nova Southeastern University Sharks on Friday night.

SCORES (AFTER DAY 1)

• Men: No. 16 NSU 100, No. 2 UT 50
• Women: No. 3 NSU 126, No. 4 UT 24

TOP PERFORMERS (MEN)

• Santiago Corredor was the runner-up in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:29.55.
• Ben Castro placed second in the 200 Butterfly finishing at 1:52.46. Ian Morgan finished third with a time of 1:55.11.
• Jimmy Senese took third place in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 21.15.
• Tampa took the top three spots in the 200 Backstroke with Connor Kazmi, Nate Puchalski, and C.J. Hills finishing at 1:51.23, 1:55.75, and 2:00.46.
• The Men's 200 Freestyle Relay, made up of Patrick Fry, Aidan Sims, Senese, and Gabriel Rzezwicki, finished second with a time of 1:24.13. 

TOP PERFORMERS (WOMEN)

• Lily Turco placed third in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:06.01.

The Spartans finish out the dual meet tomorrow with competition resuming at 10:00 a.m. in Fort Lauderdale.
