USTFCCCA Names Shane Cohen All-American
NEW ORLEANS – All-America honors for the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). University of Tampa runner Shane Cohen was announced as a second-team selection.
Cohen, a sophomore from Huntingdon Valley, Pa., becomes the first runner in program history to earn All-American honors. He was recognized following his NCAA Championships appearance in the 800 Meters, where he advanced to the national finals in the event.
Competing in the championships on Saturday, Cohen was timed at 1:51.21. He concluded a season where he established a new school record in the 800 Meters with a time of 1:49.19 at the Tampa Tri-Meet on March 13. He also set a new school mark in the 400 Meters while being part of school records in the 4x400 Meter Relay.
Student-athletes earned First-Team USTFCCCA All-American honors by virtue of finishing among the top-eight in their respective events – including as a member of a relay team – at this past weekend's outdoor championship meet.
