Spartans Register at Georgia Tech Invite
ATLANTA, Ga. – The University of Tampa men's and women's track teams were both in action at the Georgia Tech Invitational over the weekend.
Top Performances (Men)
- Freshman Joey Coulter was the top UT runner in the 200 as his time of 22.63 was good for 30th place in the event. He was also 38th in the 400 to lead all Spartans with a time of 50.05.
- Two-time All-American Shane Cohen returned to competition in the 800, running a season-best time of 1:54.97 to place 20th overall. He was also the fastest runner in his heat.
- Senior Paul Wales registered in the 1,500, and would run the event in 4:03.65 to rank at 61.
- Aaron Engelhardt led Tampa in the 5,000, finishing with a time of 14:52.09 in 20th place.
Top Performances (Women)
- Camilla Nicholas was 27th in the 100 as the freshman finished in 12.11.
- The 200 had Jada Bolhuis finish 41st as her time was 25.86.
- In the 400, Lillian Hicks was the fastest Spartan. She logged a time of 59.46, which placed her 40th overall.
- Senior Zahra Wilson competed in the 800, where she was 40th with a time of 2:19.49.
- Aspen Gordon had a 4:41.52 in the 1,500 as she came in at number 39, as she was also the winner of her heat in the event.
- The 5,000 saw a time of 18:18.56 from Meagan Moreno, which was good for 43rd.
- In the 100 Hurdles, Allison Murphy was 26th as her time was 15.38. Murphy would also lead UT in the 400 Hurdles, where she was 11th after finishing in 1:03.17.
Up Next: Tampa travels to Jacksonville for the North Florida East Coast Relays, which is scheduled for April 28-29.
