
Tampa Spartans Accompany USF Alumni Invitational
March 21st-22nd, 2025
TAMPA, Fla. - The Spartans had a very successful weekend at the USF Alumni Invitational this past weekend. Multiple school records were broken, including the mens 4x400m relay, womens 400m hurdles, and womens 100m hurdles. This invitational was filled with some of the top DI NCAA track and field programs and the Tampa athletes did a phenominal job blending in with top tier competition. A special achnowledgment to Allison Murphy, as she finished the weekend with three PR's, two school records, and one national qualifying time. She was an inspiration to watch and made her mark on the track this weekend. Another top end Tampa performance was from Kendra Krueger, hitting a national qualifier in the 800m, breaking the school record. On the men's side, Gabe McConville ran another 800m national qualifying time, comfortably placing himself in a good spot for nationals. The Spartans continue their season this weekend back at home for the first ever Spartans Relay, Saturday, March 29th, at Pepin Stadium.

- 800m: Gabe McConville, 6th place, 1:50.77, National Qualifier.
- 2000m Steeple Chase: Aidan Barich, 1st place, 6:27.71.
- 5000m: Brian Veit, 3rd place, 14:58.12.
- 4x400m Relay: Joey Coulter, Parker Malmgren, Zachary Kehler, Gabe McConville, 15th place, 3:17.31 (school record).
Top Performers (women):
- 100m Dash: Chloe Green, 49th place, 12.57, PR, 4th fastest in school history.
- 100m hurdles: Allison Murphy, 26th place, 14.61, PR, school record, Molly Morris, 28th place, 14.76, and Kate Carter, 30th place, 15.03.
- 400m Dash: Allison Murphy, 37th place, 57.17, PR, 2nd fastest in school history.
- 400m Hurdles: Allison Murphy, 14th place, 1:00.71, school record, National Qualifier, Molly Morris, 24th place, 1:02.60, 2nd fastest in school history, Kate Carter, 26th place, 1:03.29, 3rd fastest in school history.
- 800m: Kendra Krueger, 17th place, 2:11.20, school record, National Qualifier, Hannah Diete, 38th place, 2:18.57, 8th fastest in school history.
- 1500m: Campbell Caldwell, 24th place, 4:39.92, 17th all-time, Kendra Krueger, 25th place, 4:40.36, 20th all-time.
- 5000m: Emily Kriney, 4th place, 17:17.31, 13th all-time.
