Success in the First Annual Spartan Relays

Tampa, Fla -- Majority of the UTampa Track team participated in the first annual Spartan Relays, hosted at Pepin Stadium. This meet was short events focused, as the longest event being the mile. A 4x800m relay, the 4x200m relay, and the racewalk were added to the meet schedule as a chance for teams to qualify for nationals. The Spartans were nothing short of outstanding, with PRs and SBs on overdrive. This was a perfect opportunity for the athletes to focus on individual events, as the work load was lighter due to the small meet. The Spartans are excited to continue this tradition with the years to come.

- 100m Dash: Anthony Russo, 4th place, 11.16, PR, and Calvin Jordan, 3rd place, 11.16.
- 400m Dash: Luca Rius, 10th place, 51.50, PR.
- 400m Hurdles: Luca Rius, 8th place, 56.03, PR.
Top Performers (women):
- 100m Hurdles: Lindsey Kownick, 2nd place, 15.27, PR.
- 200m Dash: Allison Murphy, 4th place, 25.79, PR.
- 400m Hurdlers: Lindsey Kownick, 1st place, 1:05.88, PR.
- 4x400m Relay: Allison Murphy, Molly Morris, Tatum Lunsford, Marielle Clayton, 1st place, 3:58.23, 3rd fastest in school history.

The Spartans head to Embry-Riddle for a two day meet this weekend.
