Pair of Spartan Runners Honored by SSC

ORLANDO, Fla. - Following an impressive performance by both University of Tampa cross country teams in their season opener at the Gator invitational, Laura Woznicki and Anthony Nicolosi were chosen as the SSC Runners of the Week.

Woznicki, a native of Lakeland, had a tremendous showing at the University of Florida's Gator Invitational, finishing third among 175 runners with a time of 17:44. Woznicki led the Spartans to a second-place finish among 19 collegiate squads competing in the 5K event.

Nicolosi, from St. Petersburg, finished 39th of 157 runners at the University of Florida's Gator Invitational, turning in a time of 27:00 in the 8K event. His performance helped Tampa place seventh of 15 collegiate teams competing in the event.
