
Tampa Women Ranked Seventh in First Poll
NEW ORLEANS, La. - After winning the UT Early Bird Classic to start the 2008 season, The University of Tampa women's cross country team has been tabbed as the seventh ranked team in the nation by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Spartans, who finished the 2007 season 10th at the NCAA II Championships, claimed five of the top six finishes at last week's event. UT runners Jessica Forrester, Alysha Duffy and freshman Jessica Butler claimed the top three spots respectively.
Tampa will return to action on Sat., Sept. 20, when it travels to Gainesville for the annual Florida Invite.
