CHAMPIONSHIP DATE
The 2014 SSC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 with the men's race at 7:45 am and the women's race at 8:30 am.
CHAMPIONSHIP SITE
The 2014 SSC Championships will be held at the Sydney Dover Trails in Dover, Florida. Located at 535 N. Dover Road, Dover, FL.
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
The men's race will cover a distance of 8,000 meters and will begin at 7:45 a.m. The women's race will cover a distance of 6,000 meters and will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Teams may enter an unlimited number of runners, with the top five earning team points. Teams with fewer than five runners may enter their runners as individuals who will compete for all-conference honors, but those teams cannot compete for the team championship.
Teams and individuals from all active SSC member institutions may compete for the team and individual awards. All runners must be eligible according to NCAA and SSC rules.
In the event that a team enters more than five runners, those individuals finishing 6th or 7th on their team will displace slower runners who are among their team's five fastest runners. An individual time from teams with fewer than five runners will not displace slower runners.
AWARD CEREMONY
The 2014 SSC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships awards ceremony will take place following the completion of both races. Team championship trophies will be presented to the top men's team and the top women's team. In addition, the All-Championship Team (the top ten men finishers and the top ten women finishers) will be announced. All teams are encouraged to attend the Awards Ceremony.
PARKING
There is no parking at the cross country course and Hills. County parking is requesting a $2.00 per vehicle parking fee.
