Blackburn Races to SSC Runner of the Week Finish

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa men's cross country runner Tyler Blackburn was named Sunshine State Conference Runner Player of the Week for the period of Sept. 14-20 as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Blackburn finished in sixth-place among non-Division I runners at the Mountain Dew Invitational at the University of Florida on Saturday, September 19.

The senior posted a time of 25:49.89 on the 8000 meter course to lead the University of Tampa to a fourth place finish, ahead of 14 other teams including three Sunshine State Conference teams.

The Spartans travel to St. Paul, Minn. to compete in the Minnesota Invite on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 a.m.
