
Spartan Runners Compete at Pre-Conference Race
LAKELAND, Fla. - The University of Tampa sent its "B" team to the Moc Invite Pre-Conference Race, which was hosted by Sunshine State Conference opponent Florida Southern College on Friday.
The Spartans finished seventh in both the men's and women's races. The men ran an 8K, with the women competing in the 5K. The race took place at Holloway Park in Lakeland.
Tampa's men were led by Geremy DeWitt, who finished 33rd with a time of 29:17.80. Jessie Boria (41st, 29:55.50), Mitch Arnold (46th, 30:15.20), Drew Carff (65th, 32:33.60) and Eddie Keenan (66th, 32:38.40) also ran for Tampa.
On the women's side, Aislinn Sroczynski was 14th to pace all Spartan runners with a time of 20:44.60. Also running for UT was Erica Petersen (22nd, 21:14.90), Caitlin Whetstone (32nd, 21:43.20), Thea Ramsey (50th, 22:49.60), Natalie Cortes (66th, 24:27.90), Alex Bohne (74th, 26:26.90) and Magen Olander (75th, 27:13.60).
The remainder of UT's runner will be in action on Saturday at the Minnesota Invitational in St. Paul, Minn.
