
Nation’s Top Teams Compete at Minnesota Invite
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The University of Tampa men's and women's cross country teams competed again the nation's best at the Minnesota Invite, with the Spartan women placing seventh as the men were 23rd.
Tampa's women finished the 6K with 187 points as the NCAA Division II champion was the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The meet, which was hosted by the University of Minnesota, took place at Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Chantalle Blundell finished seventh overall as the senior completed the race in 22:58.8. Other members of the Spartan top-five include Claudia Cancello (32nd, 24:09.3), Danielle Kissel (42nd, 24:27.8), Elaina Cancello (48th, 24:32.6) and Aimee Epps (58th, 24:44.4).
UT's men finished with 581 total points as the men's race was won by Black Hills State College.
Cory Munsch led Tampa with a 99th-place finish as he finished the 8K in 28:14. Also running for the Spartans in the top-five were Brendan McGonagle (28:21), Jake Poore (28:22), Matt Hoffman (28:38) and Joe Weber (29:06).
Tampa will return to action on October 2 at the Florida State Invite in Tallahassee, Fla.
