
Sullivan, Hammill, Wales Take Home All-SSC Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. – Fourteen student-athletes are awarded All-Conference accolades in men's cross country following the 2021 Sunshine State Conference championship. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University earns six All-SSC honors after capturing its second consecutive league title, including Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year. University of Tampa runners Devon Sullivan, Jared Hammill and Paul Wales each received All-SSC honors.
League coaches voted upon Runner, Freshman, and Coach of the Year awards, while runners who finish Top-14 at the 2021 SSC Men's Cross Country Championship earn All-SSC status. Florida Southern College hosted this year's championship on October 23rd at Holloway Park in Lakeland.

Mason Jones of Florida Southern retains his crown as Runner of the Year following the individual title at the league championship. Jones, a native of Titusville, Florida, finished the 8,000-meter race in 24:25.79, over nine seconds ahead of second place. Jones remains the ninth Moccasin to be named Runner of the Year and becomes the fourth to win the award twice1.
Brendon Shea of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is named Freshman of the Year. The Hersey, Pennsylvania native finished ninth at the conference championship with a time of 25.35.12. Shea is the fourth consecutive Eagle to be honored by conference coaches2.
Mike Rosolino is awarded his second consecutive, third overall SSC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year honor. Under Rosolino's leadership, Embry-Riddle captured the 2021 conference championship, the program's third league title. ERAU earned a meet score of 46, with all five Eagles runners finishing Top-15.
Jones repeats as an All-SSC selection for a fifth straight season, while teammate Joshua Wagner repeats as First Team for the fourth season. ERAU's Ryan Szklany and Saint Leo's Shane Bracken both earn a third consecutive First Team accolade. A total of nine student-athletes repeat as All-SSC performers from last season.
