SSC Names George Alexander Runner of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Coming off a first-place team finish at the Valdosta State Invitational, the University of Tampa received more good news as George Alexander was recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Alexander takes Runner of the Week honors following a second-place finish at the 2022 Valdosta State Invite. The Ashburn, Virginia product finished the 7.25K race with a time of 23:36.6. Alexander's performance led the Spartans to a first-place finish in a field of seven teams.

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of August 29 - September 4, 2022. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
