Spartans Place Five in Top-10 to Finish Second at UNF Men's Invite
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Competing at the University of North Florida 5K Cross Country Challenge, the University of Tampa men's cross country team had a strong showing, finishing in second place with 30 points, tying with host North Florida, who won via a tiebreaker. The Spartans would finish with five runners in the top-10.
Top Tampa Runners
- Tampa's top performer was Gabe McConville, who placed 5th overall with a time of 15:43.6.
- He was closely followed by George Alexander (6th, 15:43.9).
- Ayden Estevez (7th, 15:45.2) and Nathan Reffitt (8th, 15:45.7) followed in the seventh and eighth spots respectively.
- Zachary Knott rounded out Tampa's top five with a 10th-place finish in 15:49.9, contributing to their impressive team score.
- Jared Hammill and Brian Veit also performed well, placing 14th and 22nd, respectively.

The Spartans return to action on Friday, September 27 at the Florida State Pre-Regional in Tallahassee, Fla. The event will take place at Apalachee Regional Park, with the race starting at 7:45 am.
