Spartans Split Doubleheader With Rollins
WINTER PARK, Fla. - The University of Tampa softball team recorded a 6-1 victory over Rollins College in game one before falling 3-1 in the second game of the Sunshine State Conference doubleheader. With one regular season game remaining, the Spartans stand at 29-19 overall and 14-9 in the SSC. The Tars are now 36-14 and 11-9 in league play.
Kelly Glover led Tampa at the plate, going 4-7 with an RBI while Kallan Casey batted 4-8 with two runs batted in. Devlin Dougherty won game one for UT, allowing one run on three hits with Heather VanLandingham suffering the game two loss as Tampa was unable to hold onto a 1-0 early lead.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow at 12 noon in Winter Park as the Spartans conclude the regular season.
