Three Spartans Named All-Conference
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced its 2007 All-SSC Softball Team, naming three University of Tampa players to the list. Kallan Casey garnered first-team honors while teammates Devlin Dougherty and Kelly Glover were selected to the second-team.
Casey, a junior third basesman from Clearwater, hit .312 in her first season as a Spartan. She also led the team with 21 sacrifice hits while starting all 49 games.
Dougherty, a senior from Couer d'Alene, Idaho, was selected as a utility player though she was also UT's top pitcher. As Tampa's leading hitter, she hit .328 with a team high seven home runs. She also drove in 31 runs.
Glover, a senior outfielder from Tampa, turned in a career best .315 batting average with four home runs and 26 RBI. She also started all 49 games this year and finished second on the team with 51 hits.
