Spartans Drop Pair at Valdosta State Tournament
VALDOSTA, Ga. - The University of Tampa softball team suffered a pair of losses at the Valdosta State Tournament, falling 1-0 to West Florida (5-2) and 9-3 to #15 Valdosta State (10-2). The Spartans are now 4-2 on the year.
Against West Florida, freshman pitcher Deanna Henriott pitched the entire game, allowing just three hits while striking out seven. Ashley Arcuri had two of UT's five hits at the plate as she went 2-2.
In game two, a potent Valdosta State offense registered 10 hits against the Spartans. Kallan Casey was 2-3 with an RBI while Krystal Crooks drove in a pair of runs.
The Spartans conclude the VSU Tourney on Sunday as they meet West Florida at 9 a.m., followed by Valdosta State at 3 p.m.
