Tampa Pitching Duo Earns First-Team All-Region Honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2014 NFCA Division II All-South Region team. Julia Morrow and Kayla Cox represented UT on the first team.
A total of eight Sunshine State Conference student-athletes were named do the all-region team.
The SSC Co-Champion Rollins Tars and Tampa Spartans combined for seven of the eight selections, while Eckerd had one. Rollins totaled five selections, including four on the second team.
Named to the All-South Region First Team were: P Kayla Cox (Tampa), P Julia Morrow (Tampa) and OF Kristie Hoeffer (Rollins).
Earning a spot on the second team were: P Niki Fogle (Rollins), C Veronica Alred (Rollins), 3B Hilary Brown, OF Courtney Durbin (Rollins) and utility (pitcher) Amber Hay (Eckerd).
